1. First of all, you have to install your QuickBooks Database Server on the same system in which your QuickBooks files are stored. While running QuickBooks installer on the same machine, a screen will appear Custom and Network Options.

2. Choose the option which begins with I will not be using QuickBooks on this computer. After selecting this option, database server will automatically install in your system. During installation, your system acts as a file server.

3. In an alternative way, you need separate QuickBooks licenses to install QuickBooks 2016 in every users system manually. Make sure, these systems are perfectly networked with the patent system in which QuickBooks Database Server has been installed. All systems must run same version of software. You can provide permissions to read, write, create, delete in the company folders.
